After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate Mars while thinking him dead, astronaut Mark Watney finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive. Even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. But Mark isn’t ready to give up yet. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?

Once again, Andy Weir astonishes me. I had no idea a topic so seemingly sad and difficult could be written in such a funny way while keeping all the scientific facts accurate. While the science described in it was pretty complicated, I could understand it all easily as a high school student and it was a very fast read. I rooted for Mark Watney throughout the book and even got more stressed than him at some parts. I definitely recommend this book to everyone. If you say you don't like reading sci-fi books, it's because you haven't read this masterpiece yet.
