Fantasy

Magical worlds full of adventure? Count me in! Here are my recommendations from the Fantasy genre:

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone book

Harry Potter has a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley. But all of that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl, saying that he is accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

This amazing series about Harry's adventure has sold over 500 million copies around the world and has won many awards. It also has a movie series that has had nearly 1.3 billion viewings since its television debut which makes it the highest-watched franchise in television broadcast history.

What I liked most about this book was the magical way that J.K. Rowling told the story. This is definitely one of my favorite book series. Don't be sad when this book is finished because there are 6 more books about Harry's adventure.

Momo
by Michael Ende

This is the wonderful and heart-warming story of a young girl called Momo who has the extraordinary ability to listen very carefully and bring joy to people by helping them solve their problems. One day, people called 'The Men in Gray' come to their town and try to convince people that they shouldn't spend their precious times with anything but work. When people start believing in them, their lovely and joyful town turns into a dark and sterile place. Momo must use her gift to save the world from the time thieves.

This is one of my favorite books because I love the way it teaches lessons about time and I really like it's story. I recommend it to everyone of every age.

The Prison Healer
by Lynette Noni

Seventeen-year-old Kiva Meridan has spent the last ten years fighting for survival in the notorious death prison, Zalindov, working as the prison healer. Outside of the prison, a rebellion is waging, and when the Rebel Queen is captured, Kiva is tasked with keeping her alive long enough to undergo the Trial by Ordeal. When a coded message from Kiva’s family arrives, containing a single order: “Don’t let her die. We are coming.”, Kiva risks her own life to volunteer in the Rebel Queen's place. If she succeeds, both she and the queen will be granted their freedom. But no one has ever survived.

The way this thrilling fantasy story was told was gripping, and the plot twists were just one of the bests I’ve ever seen. I also loved the way that while most fantasy stories take place in castles or schools, this one took place in a deadly prison. I recommend this magical book to everyone. You have no idea what you're missing.

The Terrible Thing That Happened to Barnaby Brocket
by John Boyne

The Brocket family is proud of being perfectly normal. But the moment Barnaby Brocket is born, it's very clear that he is anything but ordinary. Barnaby defies the laws of gravity, and floats. His parents aren't happy at all, so one day they decide that Barnaby has to go.

This is a wonderful and heart-warming story about an abnormal child who accidentally flies around the world. I really liked this story because it helps us understand that differences can be good too. Even though most people say it's a children's book I think it has a lot of messages and everyone should read it.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More
by Roald Dahl

This is a lovely book with 7 wonderful stories. Each story is fun to read and all of them are fantastic. My favorite story was 'The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar'. I've read nearly all of Roald Dahl's books and this is one of my favorites. I recommend it to everyone of every age. Don't forget to watch it's short movie after reading this! It was just as amazing as the book.
